With their Tropical Futurism music project juxtaposes Cumbian rhythms with deconstructed highlife, Ngoni scales and indigenous instruments. “We are trying to make music from a non-hegemonic structure”, we have the feeling that telling a story from only one perspective can be weak, so we try to speak, on the one hand, from the West and, on the other, from tradition or, let’s say, non-hegemonic knowledge, and we find a point of balance ”.
